What Possessed James Holmes? Thoughtforms: Abstract Theory or Reality?

Involuntary thoughtform invocation
is akin to a nervous breakdown.

Thoughtforms have a shockingly broad influence on behavioral mental and social health as well as spiritual ideologies.  Often they appear in the form of an archetype and are perpetuated by institutions and repetitive behavior or ritual.  Religions, books, cults, objects and sites of worship or films, as well as acts & deeds (publicized and secret) are also intimately connected to thoughtforms in a cyclical fashion.  The aforementioned not only bring thoughtforms into being but are eventually also perpetuated via support from individuals who choose to relate to them.  In ancient times predating modern religion, thoughtforms were more prevalent in use for specific practical purposes, such as building superhuman energy and sensitivity to guarantee a successful hunt.  In our modern time unless you are doing a religious ritual, practicing magickal workings for your own personal reasons or living in a tribe and hunting for livelihood, you have no use for this sort of invocation and therefore no outlet.  This is much similar to how our contemporary dealings with "flight or fight" response that was once a boon to us in the wild is now deemed as a nuisance and labeled as "stress".

Today thoughtforms often run amok in the minds of those without any sense of purpose or mission in their lives. Thoughtforms will seem to find a way to help us to "fill in the blanks" in an otherwise seemingly nihilistic life.  Thoughtforms support a warped sense of reality and may even corrode free will to a certain degree, causing one to behave as if "possessed".  Sometimes that distorted sense of reality might even be supported by a thought form such as a religious icon or historical figure, causing someone to feel a strong and stimulating urge to convert others to believe in the thought form. When we act in accordance with the nature of a thoughtform it can even stimulate the pleasure center of the brain, giving us a sense of reward or elated sense of "I am doing the right thing".
[invocation as a form of possession]
The Aurora Mall in Colorado in the wake of tragedy.

An example of a thoughtform that has recently influenced a human being to behave completely without reason is "The Joker".  James Holmes, the young man who shot up the movie theater in the Aurora mall in Colorado is more than likely spiritually, emotionally or socially bereft in some way that is making him out of touch with aspects of his own personality. Those examining him in the behavioral health field will most likely conclude that he is a sociopath suffering low self esteem combined with arrogant narcissism.  Holmes was easily influenced by The Joker thoughtform, as he found a way to relate to this archetype. He acquired a warped sense of comfort in emulating a psychotic clown sociopath, which motivated him to commit an insanely cruel method of mass murder.  The deranged clown in general has seemed to have grown as big as the "Stay Puff Marshmallow Man" through widely known historical deeds and entertainment enterprises such as John Wayne Gacy, the cereal murderer and rapist who worked as a clown and raped and murdered at least 33 teenage boys, Stephen King's horror story about "IT", the Killer Clowns From Space film and ICP.  It is big and if you credit it as powerful, you will feel that it is powerful.  This "deranged clown" thoughtform has evoked irrational feelings of fear in some and desires to commit crimes in others.  This may sound completely ridiculous to some of you, but many people who have left cults, magickal groups and the like have reported sensations of even being under attack, once they have been disenfranchised from the group. Some even become physically ill or have mental breaks.

Heath Ledger's death was directly connected to this thoughtform, and Jack Nicholson knew very much about it's dangers due to his personal struggles with it, according to this article: http://www.nydailynews.com/news/jack-nicholson-warned-heath-ledger-joker-role-article-1.340786 .

If you ever have taken mind-altering substances, you may recall being everything from delighted titillated, confronted or terrorized by one or more of these "entities" (which are in fact, thoughtforms). These imagination-cloaked phantoms with their fingers tangled in our emotions support our delusions, making us feel justified or even righteous or “guided” to commit irrational acts and malignances. The more in denial you are about flaws and weaknesses in your own character, the more easily you will fall victim to this insanity.   The solution is to practice niyama and viveka.  Niyama is self observation. Know thy self. Know your weaknesses, your habits and your ego. Also, nurture and embrace your positive qualities and skills so that you don't feel like you need to rely on others for a sense of self worth.  Befriend your atma, your soul and you will be able to practice viveka with clarity. Viveka is the practice of discriminating between that which is ultimate truth/ infinite and that which is temporary/not real. Only the wisdom of ultimate truth should influence the yogi. All else is the cow excrement trough which you must burn in order to illuminate your way and banish the buzzing, biting flies of thoughtforms. Yogis live their lives to benefit humanity and make the world better through their dedication to the ultimate truth, not to spend time seeking out one short burst of entertainment to the next. OM TAT SAT!
